Paying for the Tandoori Mixed Grill
Saturday's takeaway was a protein-only Tandoori mixed grill. Half a chicken, a kofte kebab, tandoori lamb, more chicken, two onion bhajis. I ate almost all of it, and my stomach has opinions about that this morning.
Saturday night, usual takeaway ritual. This time I went for the protein-only Tandoori mixed grill. Half a chicken, a kofte kebab, tandoori lamb, more chicken pieces. Two onion bhajis as well, which weren’t even that good — I think they’ve changed the chef again.
I ate almost all of it myself. Rosie and Dexter got some of the tandoori chicken, which I’d quite like to count as balancing the books. I don’t think it does.
This morning my stomach’s making its feelings known. Heavy, churning, not quite right. That’s a lot of meat and fat for a system that’s got used to rather smaller portions, and Mounjaro doesn’t exactly rush things through. The bhajis probably didn’t help either.
I’m not going to turn this into a guilt exercise. It was one takeaway, not a return to how I used to eat. I enjoyed the meat, I had my two underwhelming bhajis, and now I’m paying a short, entirely fair toll for it. Smaller meals today, plenty of fluids, no attempt to make up for it by eating less than I need.
The dogs, meanwhile, got away with it completely.
